I'm not sure precisely which day next week the podcast will return, but check back by Wednesday, and you will find a new episode of An Animal-Friendly Life. In the meantime, please enjoy my podcast for Monday, November 21, 2005:
1. The Week In Review
The following AAFL entries are discussed in today's Week in Review:
- AAFL: Should Jamie have slit a lamb's throat on TV?
- AAFL: Slaughterhouse-Bound Pig Tries to Escape
- AAFL: Farmers may be losing battle with animal rights activists
- AAFL: Humane Society to sue over poultry
The big event of the week, of course is America's Thanksgiving holiday. Please e-mail me to let me know of major national or international events you think I should include in this podcast segment.
3. Today (news & commentary)
4. Blogwatch (Other people's news & commentary)
5. Mail Bag
In my Week in Review, above, I refer to the Jamie Oliver story. In the comments for that story, someone decided to make an attempt at pointing me up as a hypocrite, because I don't kill the animals fed to my cats. My response was went to some length to address this weak and pointless jab at my veganism, and I welcome you to read it by clicking here, but I'll also address it in my podcast.
And another negative comment came from a reader that found the blog via a Topix tag on hunting. Looks like a resident of Baltimore, Maryland:
3 hours, 1 shot and deer season is over
A more positive comment, along with an interesting link from Sally ("Mango"), who hails from Veggie Revolution, regarding this entry:
Beyond turkeys, ban battery-cage eggs
She refers to an informative link at her blog.
Finally, listen to the podcast for some comments on the new format by Vegan Freak co-author Vegan Freaks podcast co-host, Bob Torres.
6. Animal-Friendly Recipe o' the Week
Veggie Burros
7. Animal-Friendly Product of the Week
WARNING: This floss has been found (12/13/05) to contain an ingredient originating from whey. Choose accordingly. You may prefer a vegan floss from Tom's of Maine instead.
8. Ask AAFL
Q: "Where do you get your protein?"
